Treatment Modalities
Acupuncture is an ancient healing technique that has been used for over 2,000 years. It involves targeted insertion of sterile/disposable/ultra-fine needles to acupuncture points to correct the flow of Qi (energy) in the body. When the energy in the body is balanced and flowing smoothly in the right direction, the body will heal itself. Acupuncture not only addresses existing imbalances, it also serves as preventative treatment.
Chinese herbal medicines treat the underlying causes of illness rather than individual symptoms. Upon assessment of a patient’s specific needs, an individualized formula is created to stimulate the body’s natural healing powers. Our dispensary carries granulated herbs, which are highly concentrated powdered extracts. The formulas are mixed with hot water and taken as a tea.
Acupressure and Tuina massage are forms of bodywork that is similar to acupuncture in the way it targets specific acupuncture points, but practitioners use fingers instead of needles to apply pressure to stimulate and release these points.
Dietary Recommendations
You are what you eat. A well-balanced diet tailored toward your body’s needs is important to achieve balance. We provide dietary and lifestyle recommendations to support our in-clinic treatments
Moxa is one of the original healing techniques used in Chinese Medicine. It is a form of heat therapy that consists of burning a type of dried leaf on or above specific points of the body. It helps to smoothen the flow of Qi and blood in the body.
Cupping and Guasha are ancient methods of healing used for thousands of years in ancient China and around the world. They are both used to release any excess or blocked energy in the body that may be causing a disharmony. Cupping can be used to treat a variety of health conditions ranging from the common cold to musculoskeletal pain.
