Telemedicine

Remote Consultations Via Phone or Online

What is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine allows patients and healthcare professionals to communicate via telecommunication technology such as phone or computer, through which the healthcare professional may provide diagnosis and treatment. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we can minimize risk of exposure to the virus by using technology to help people who need routine care, keep high risk patients and patients with mild symptoms in their homes while maintaining access to the care they need. As such, we can limit the exposure of our patients as well as community spread of the virus.

How do I pay for the Telemedicine session?

Payment must be received in full prior to the appointment and can be rendered via Venmo or Paypal (please see Fees & Insurance for payment details). Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance for Telemedicine sessions as insurance typically only covers acupuncture.

How can we help?

We do not need to see you in person to help you! Traditional Chinese Medicine is a well rounded healing system that consists of acupuncture, acupressure, Chinese herbal medicine, lifestyle and dietary recommendations. We believe in the alignment of the mind, body and spirit to achieve optimal health. Without seeing you in person, we can still offer the following services:

  • Dietary Recommendations

  • Herbal Recommendations

  • Exercise Advice

  • At Home Acupressure and Meridian Massage Instruction

  • Ear seeds prescription to stimulate acupuncture points on the ear

  • Meditative advice

What does a Telemedicine session look like?

Telemedicine appointments may last 10-25 minutes. We will be using ZOOM for the session, but can also accommodate phone or other video platform. We recommend a video platform so we have more ability to see you and connect with you. During that time we will listen to your concerns and ask you questions, if we are using video conferencing we may look at areas of your body including looking at your tongue to make a Chinese medicine diagnosis. If you have a blood pressure monitor at home, we would ask you to take your own blood pressure, pulse and provide us the numbers. Depending on your concerns we may use the following tools to help you:

  1. Discuss dietary recommendations

  2. Instruct you on cooking specific recommended foods

  3. Create a customized herbal prescription for you

  4. Discuss an exercise plan

  5. Instruct you on at home exercises, acupressure points, meridian massages

  6. Instruct you on the ear seeds for your condition

  7. Guide you in meditation
